WE
STAND UNITED - WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TERRORISM.
"Justice will be Done"
California's cowboys and ranchers are enduring a steep rise in mountain lion and coyote attacks on livestock, and blame a 1998 law banning certain kinds of animal traps for their woes. Recently released U.S. Department of Agriculture statistics show that last year 14,900 cattle and calves were killed by predators in California - up from 5,600 animals killed in 1995, nearly a 170 percent increase. A lot of it is due to an increase in the mountain lion population. When they eat, they eat our cattle, there's no doubt about it. Coyotes are also bad - I don't know which I'd say is the worst, Coyotes are the main culprit, according to the USDA, and are blamed for almost 67 percent of all the cattle and calves killed by predators last year. Mountain lions and bobcats are blamed for 22 percent of the deaths. The rest of the animals were killed by dogs or black bears, for the most part. The killings cost the state's ranchers $5 million in lost revenue in 2000. California's lion population is guessed to be anywhere from 2,500 to 5,000 cats and is considered healthy by state wildlife managers. The state has no estimates for the coyote population. In California, however, lions killed 3,300 cattle and calves last year, compared to 1,500 animals five years before, according to the USDA, and ranchers say they continue to spot more big cats and coyotes on their land. Ranchers insist the best methods for keeping t he predator populations in check were banned with the 1998 passage of Proposition 4. The voter-backed proposition prohibited the use of steel-jaw leg-hold traps in California and allows padded-jaw leg-hold traps only in "extraordinary" circumstances conce rning public safety. The initiative also outlawed two pesticides used in predator control: sodium fluoracetate and sodium cyanide. "We've lost the control techniques" ... and that's been tragic. The public's been hoodwinked on that. The modern traps just aren't that painful, The main thing people don't understand is that we don't have the original predator-prey balance because all the environment has been modified. Nature is crying out for people to be a surrogate predator to fill that need, Animal rights groups and others supporting the initiative, including the Doris Day Animal League, the Humane Society of the United States and the Sierra Club, said the traps are cruel. Similar laws passed in Colorado, Arizona and Massachusetts.}

Marsh Creek Ranch Coyote Hunt
I took my Remington .223. We went up to Marsh Creek Ranch where Al does a lot of Coyote hunting. What a nice place to hunt, Big Ranch in the hills. We did some calling and wasn't long till I spotted a Coyote about 130 yards. Here's the Picture..

Al
had brought his Digital Camera. We took some Pictures and then
Hung him in a tree for the Rancher to see. This Helps With the
very Large Coyote Population and saves the Deer and Cattle from
being Killed off. Oh yes, this makes the Rancher Happy.
My big thanks to Varmint
Al for taking me up to Marsh
Creek Ranch.

Capay Valley Coyote Hunting Trip
Varmint Al came up and we went Coyote hunting up in the Capay Valley where I hunt on a large Cattle Ranch. We spent most of the day calling but was not having much luck, usually there are a lot of coyotes up there, Don’t know where they all went to. The temp was 65deg. nice sunshiny day, “Fog in the Valley”. We did a lot of hiking up and down the hills, and driving around making calls. finely on our last stand of the day Al called in two coyotes. We were in a very good spot, Al was watching in one direction and I was looking in the other. Well, here come two Yotes in my line of fire. I shot one, but the other got away. He was a big male, so he want be making any more puppy’s. “One less Coyote”........Did it with my New Winchester .243 CamoJack....

Camo Your Rifle
How to Camo By CamoJack: Camo is easy to do. I first clean my Rifle.I use Alcohol. Wipe it down. get any oil off. Close the bolt. You can oil the bolt down and the paint will come off easy, or usually it don't hurt it anyway. Camo your Scope also, I know, it hurts a little. But when your all done, it looks very good. Be sure and tape the ends of the Scope, and any Numbers that you need. Here is the list of Paint I use: "Woodland Camouflage Paint"- "8010-00-111-7937...Mil-e-52798" 1. MUD BROWN..#.30117.--Two Cans.. 2. LIGHT TREE GREEN..#.34258.--One Can.. 3. DARK TREE GREEN..#.34086.--One Can.. 4. FLAT BLACK..Any Good Brand from your Hardware Store. Step 1.-Give the Gun a light coat of "MUD BROWN" (Try to use only two coats to cover the gun) You want to keep your paint job thin so it wont chip or peel. Cover the whole thing, Scope too. Let it set for about two hours before you do the next step. Step 2.- "Spot Spray" Light Tree Green. Just here and there. Let it set about 30 min. Step 3.- "Spot Spray" Dark Tree Green. You can Blend the two Green's together, Where one ends and the other starts, or you can keep them apart. Be sure to not cover up all your Mud Brown. Let it set about 1 hour to dry good. Step 4.- Here is the Trick..Useing the Flat black. Go out and get a good Leaf off your tree. Keep the stem long. You may want a small, and a large one. But you only need to use one. Holding the flat black out, spray a little in the air and notice the spray aim so you don't miss. You might want to practice on a board or something first. Hold the Flat Black spray can about 10 in. From your gun. Hold the stem of the leaf and make sure it lays flat on the area you are spraying. Give it a "Very Light" Touch of Spray. Just to Fade it in. Just covering the Leaf. Turn the Leaf in different directions. Do the Leaf Just here and there. Take a look at my Web Page, I have a picture of some of my guns and Bi-Pod. http://www.jhendrick.com/hunt.html Here is where I order my Paint. http://www.loadup.com/index.html They Ship most of the time in the same day I order. UPS.
Good Luck fromCamoJack.
